Welcome to The Liberty Elm Diner! Open Tuesday – Sunday for breakfast and lunch! Come on down!

We’re your local coffee hangout located in the Elmwood neighborhood of Providence, RI – and we’re serving up some tasty food! Situated in a 1947 Worcester Lunch Car diner listed on the National Historic Register — just blocks from the beautiful 430-acre Roger Williams Park and Zoo — we’re the gateway to the historic Elmwood neighborhood of Providence.

Here at The Liberty Elm, we believe in using local and regional sustainable products. Everything we serve is fresh, healthy and house-cooked. All of our meats are preservative and nitrate free. Our takeout packaging is compostable, recyclable and/or made from recycled materials. We support local agriculture and aquaculture here in the capital city of our beautiful Ocean State.

We serve FULL BREAKFAST & LUNCH ALL DAY, including robust fair-trade, locally-roasted coffee, fresh squeezed juices, smoothies, local cage-free eggs, savory soups, salads, muffins, bagels, pies, scones, special entrees and more! Vegan friendly!

We’re proud to participate in the Elm Research Institute’s “Matching Tree Grant” program through our “1% for Trees” initiative. 1% of our profits are used to purchase Dutch-Elm Liberty Elms to re-tree Elmwood Avenue and the South Providence neighborhood. Dutch Elms are resistant to diseases and will help “green” our neighborhood.

Conveniently located just off Rt. 95 Exit 17 southbound, Exit 16 northbound, and Rt. 10. Or just a hop and a skip from Downcity, directly across the street from the RIPTA bus garages on Elmwood Ave./ historic Rt. 1. Reasonable prices – good tunes – local art – local music – free wi-fi – women-owned.
